Vento dell'Etna

Vodka al pepe nero

Vento dell'Etna- Vodka al pepe nero

In the 19th century, when the spice trade was dominated by daring navigators, the ships of the Two Sicilies sailed the seas driven by wind and determination to reach distant lands such as Sumatra, the homeland of black pepper. These voyages were feats of courage and ingenuity, where every breath of wind—even that blowing around Mount Etna—seemed to guide the sails toward new adventures and riches. In 1839, the captain of a Two Sicilies sailing ship undertook an 18-month journey through storms and pirates to bring back to Sicily a precious cargo of pepper, so intense that it filled the air of the ship’s hold and forced the sailors to travel above deck.
